Honour for PU emeritus professor


The Association of Pharmacy Professionals has conferred the title of "Eminent Pharmacist 2016" on Panjab University (PU) emeritus professor and former PU dean (university instructions) S K Kulkarni.

Prof Kulkarni was honoured during the 5th International Convention held at the Anna University, Tiruchirapalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu recently. He is teaching at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS).

Professor Kulkarni is a fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS), National Academy of Sciences (FNASc) and Indian Pharmaceutical Association (FIPA). A Fulbright visiting scholar of US education foundation, he has been a recipient of several national recognitions including UGC Hari Om Ashram Trust National Award, Ranbaxy Research Foundation Award, Acharya P C Ray gold medal, professor G P Srivastava Memorial National Award, and APTI life-time achievement award, besides others.

He has also been awarded with the title of "Punjab Ratan" in recognition of his distinguished services to education, science and society. He has authored more than 400 research papers, 175 review and professional articles, five patents and 10 books.
