Pharma Entrepreneurship: Insights & Scenario_An essay by Hemlata Dol
“Be like a diamond
precious & rare
Not like stone that
founds everywhere”
These
precious Saying’s encourages everyone to being having unique identity
with simply ‘thinking out of box’ that makes them
popular with success. As said by Nelson Mandela, ‘Education is the
most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. But reality is
different. After desired qualification everyone come to
conclusion of no opportunities for fresher’s…unemployment…saturation for job…and many more. If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a
door.
Very few just think about
to being an entrepreneur and a few succeed in it. Really it’s very difficult to
be an Entrepreneur? No really not, ‘The heart of entrepreneur can beat freely in anyone’, only we have to
recognize it.
Entrepreneurship is nothing but the
"capacity and willingness to
innovate, develop, organize and manage a business venture along with any of its
risks in order to make a profit".
Anyone from any discipline
of education can be an entrepreneur. Opportunities seek for a chance and entrepreneur make
new chance. Being an Entrepreneur is one
of the most exciting and popular things to do. Though
starting and maintaining your own business isn't easy. Your
heart pounds. You smile. Excitement
abounds. You are inspired. Life
has a new meaning. What is the object of all
this positive energy? An idea! The experience of getting a
new idea is wonderful. What follows can also be fun
and exciting, when you have a plan and know what it takes to carry your idea
from conception to reality. Dreaming a dream is one thing, but bringing the dream
to market is another dimension entirely. Business is all about making
money, which means the bottom line, is the bottom line. However, once your dream is
realized there are several steps you must take before going to the market. "Being an entrepreneur is
primarily hard because it is on you," Lackey says.
"Success is on you. Results are on you. Making the call, doing the
things you don't like to do, on you."
Pharmacy
is a noble profession & mark as one of the economic pillar of India. Pharmacists comprise the third largest healthcare
professionals in the world and pharmacy profession has been evolving steadily
over the last decade in India. Pharmacist is the second most trustable person in
community. Pharmacist gives life to the medicine and acts as
integral part of health-care system. A vast rush is recently attracting for the career in
Pharma profession every year. A huge extent D. Pharm, B. Pharm, M. Pharm and Pharm.D candidates pass
out with great achievements and obviously competing for opportunities for
earning and learning. Scenario indicate that after completion of D. Pharm course a
very few percentile of students choose career as entrepreneur and others
contribute to higher education studies. After diploma completion
dream and goal of most students is built own pharmacy. Bachelor’s degree
qualifying aspirants are of with great interest in industry oriented job in
production, quality control, quality analysis, packaging etc. with a very less
dream of own pharmacy or being as a Pharma entrepreneur. Post graduation M. Pharm qualifying
buddies make a choice of Pharma academic profession and others enter into
research and development region. Post graduates dream to be doctorate and make vision
with the journey to make path easier. Current Pharma entrepreneur scenario revealed a most
of pharmacy qualifying personnel dream of having ‘Own Pharmacy’ either retail or
wholesale or combine very few unique faces think of having manufacturing unit
with special emphasis on herbal medicines. Everyone waits for
campus placement…search for job…its reality.
Pharmacist Oath remembers that,
‘Acting as integral
part of health care team to discover and manufacture drugs of quality to
alleviate sufferings of humanity.’
Keeping the oath think of - Why to wait for jobs?
Pharmacy students need to be entrepreneurs.
“Entrepreneurship
means not to develop drug molecule in campus in four years. It means to make students able to generate jobs not
only for themselves but for others too. They may imagine some products in FMCG category like
oral hygienic, maternity and nursing products, herbal formulations, OTC
products…”
As we
know about saying, ‘WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY’
Opportunistic roadmap for diploma pharmacy as being
an Entrepreneur:
After B. Pharm…M. Pharm…Dreaming
of being Entrepreneur….Come & Catch……
Educating
yourself needs to be both open-ended and focused, to provide the freedom necessary to
explore unexpected leads. Success at this stage often depends on how open-minded you are. If you enter the education
process with even some preconceptions, you are likely to miss important learning. Adopt a spirit of adventure
about learning new things. If you fear learning new information because it might
undermine your idea, then you will miss major insights.
There is good news in everything you learn, if only your vision is broad and clear enough to see it. How a joint venture with the company holding the patent could be an even bigger idea? How you can use the learning and experience from working on this project to benefit your company in other ways. This attitude is crucial to your success at this early stage.

India should walk on her own shadow we must have our own
development model. It’s my pleasure to mention name of dynamic entrepreneur from
Pharma industry Mr. Dilip Sanghavi, Director Ajanta Pharma who has faced a
challenging journey during his entrepreneurial career.
A message to all is,
‘Think big and don’t listen to people who tell
u it can’t be done, life’s too short to think small’
At
the end remember this,
‘True Entrepreneur is a Doer not a
Dreamer’
‘PROUD TO BE PHARMA ENTREPRENEUR’
